Bio: 

Laura Register joined the Office of the Chief Risk Officer as a Program Manager of Ethics and Compliance in January 2021. Prior to this role, Laura served as the subject matter expert over Stanford’s subaward program in the position of Assistant Director of Subaward Oversight & Compliance. She led the development and implementation of subaward process, policy, oversight, controls, audit, training, tools, and outreach for the University. Prior to joining Stanford in 2012, Laura was an auditor for the State of Arizona in the Department of Education and Department of Economic Security where she audited state payments and systems and investigated payment fraud and abuse.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Arizona State University, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Kaplan University, and holds Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) certifications from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
