Bio:

Peter Spohn is Director, Investigations, at Stanford University. Peter oversees the investigation of financial irregularities in the Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), which you can find more information about here. Since 2022, Peter has led investigations and provided consultations to other Stanford groups concerning fraud and investigation processes. Peter is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Prior to joining Stanford, Peter was head of security and investigations for a regional bank in the Washington, D.C., area. While there, he oversaw investigations and developed the Fraud Risk Management policy and program documents. Prior to the bank, Peter was an Agent and Supervisory Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for over 21 years.

Peter received his Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Penn State University and holds a Certificate in Forensic Accounting from Georgetown University. Peter is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
