Bio: 

Laura Cisi is Executive Director, Office of Risk Management and Insurance at Stanford University. Laura oversees Property, Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Global Travel Insurance programs, which you can find more information about here. For over 30 years, Laura has led teams focused on Risk Management, Claims, Loss Control and Insurance, including alternative risk financing solutions. Laura is a member of the Allianz, Chubb and Marsh Risk Consulting Advisory Boards. She is a risk advisor to the following Stanford committees: Business Continuity Planning, Cardinal Free Clinics, Infrastructure Resilience Advisory Committee (IRAC), Infrastructure Safety and Security Committee (ISSC), Risk Assessment Committee (RAC), Stanford Student Enterprises (SSE) Advisory Board, University Committee on Health and Safety, and Wildfire Resilience Steering Committee.

Prior to joining Stanford, Laura served as Vice President of Global Risk Management at The Clorox Company for 8 years. Before her role as a Risk Manager, Laura spent 23 years with Marsh Risk and Insurance Services where she was a broker with expertise in management liability, reinsurance and casualty insurance.

Laura has spoken on topics related to enterprise risk management, insurance, claims and alternative risk solutions in forums including the risk management society (RIMS), Hawaii Captive Insurance Conference (HCIC) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU).

Laura received a Masters degree in Spanish from Middlebury College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from Sacramento State University. She holds licenses in Property, Casualty, Specialty and Surplus Lines Insurance.
