Chester Chu is Senior Director at Stanford University. Chester oversees Stanford Medicine Internal Audit, which you can find more information about here. For 13 years at Stanford, Chester has directed projects and investigations to address financial, operational, information technology (IT), regulatory compliance, fraud, and code of conduct risks. Chester’s leadership responsibilities include executing agile audit plans and presenting results to the four audit, risk, and compliance committees of the Stanford clinical enterprise. Chester’s role also entails leading teams to assess enterprise transformation and IT implementation projects and mentoring staff as part of talent development programs. Chester is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors (AHIA).

Prior to joining Stanford, Chester served as Executive Audit Director for Kaiser Permanente, a national clinical enterprise with 40 hospitals. Chester’s professional career spans over 35 years that includes serving in leadership roles in IT project management, systems development, financial administration, and HIPAA security and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Chester served as a subject matter expert and co-collaborator to enhance COBIT, which is an industry wide framework created by ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) for IT governance. Chester also completed the Stanford University Management Academy Program.

Chester received dual Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Finance and Information Systems from San Francisco State University. Chester is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
